Pixel Campus, classroom

Temishi Onnekikami & Caleb Mitchell, Zoom Room: Projection

Project for Tobias Armborst’s Advanced Architectural Design Studio. Fall 2020.

Virtual “space” has rapidly become the primary setting in which we meet with others. One’s place “on” campus has been considered an important tenet of a residential liberal arts education. However, what happens when the previously stable conditions of the classroom are shattered? The campus looks very different when it is compressed onto a screen. As part of our acclimation to these new spatial boundaries, we document the individual “spaces” that each one of our peers inhabits during our class, which when viewed together, forms the “space” of our virtual classroom.
